About Us
The Whistler Farmers’ Market is a registered non-profit society dedicated to the promotion of regionally produced foods, crafts and services. We adhere to the 100% made, baked, grown or raised policy of the B.C. Association of Farmers’ Markets.
From humble beginnings of one farm and a couple of crafters in the summer of 1994, the market today hosts an average of 60 vendors per market, and 100 vendors throughout the season.
The market showcases a wide variety of products including fruit, produce, meat, seafood and honey, as well as hot and artisan foods, cold drinks, liquor and a wide range of artistic creators.
In the face of ongoing challenges associated with COVID-19, the importance of supporting local and strengthening food systems continues to be a priority. The WFM partners with the Whistler Community Services Society to support the Whistler Food Bank and Farmers' Market Nutrition Coupon Program and Whistler Food Bank.
Visit the market on Sundays & select saturdays at the Upper Village Stroll, 11am - 4pm, from May 21 until October 8, 2023.
Giving Back to the Community and our Members
The Board of Directors of the Whistler Farmers' Market identified "social responsibility" as an important direction for the organization in its 2011 Strategic Plan. The Whistler Farmers' Market has historically provided funding for the Whistler Food Bank. In 2012 we were able to increase their contribution back to the community significantly. We are able to provide awards to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and Fairmont Chateau Whistler Foundation for $2000 each. The Whistler Food Bank contribution was increased by $2000. The Pemberton Arts Council received $1000 and the Whistler Arts Council received $500 in cash and $500 in market value.
The Board of Directors has since approved a policy that will see a minimum of $10,000 per year dedicated to supporting community organizations.
Social responsibility is embedded in the corporate culture of the Whistler Farmers' Market. We fully acknowledge that our success is due in a large part to the support of our partners and the community we are so proud to serve.
