MARKET OPERATIONS
Pack up / Pack down: All vendors must be set up at the market at least 30 mins ahead of the official market start time. Failure to meet this may result in a vendor losing their market stall for that day. All vehicles must exit the market by a time designated by the Market Manager. No vendor is permitted to leave before the market ends. If a vendor leaves their market stall before the designated closing time they may not be allowed to return. Vehicles are not allowed in the market area for pack-down until a time designated by the Market Manager. If a vendor fails to meet this schedule on two separate occasions during the market season the vendor may not be allowed to return.
Stall spaces: All vendors must agree to respect their assigned stall space and confine their display within the contracted stall space. Vendors must ensure that fire lanes are not interfered with. All stall assignments must be adhered to, or the vendor will be billed by the market for their additional space.
Garbage: All vendors must remove their own garbage at the end of the day. On-site garbage receptacles have limited space and are not to be used by market vendors.
Stall Appearance: Each vendor is responsible for the safety and appearance of their stall space at the market. This includes meeting all health regulations and keeping the area behind and around their stalls clean and free of clutter before, during and after the market.
Vendor Conduct: Vendors must conduct themselves with kindness and respect to customers and other vendors alike. Please refer to the WFM Code of Conduct.
Cancellation: Whistler Farmers Market reserves the right to cancel an event or any booth location due to low enrollment, inclement weather, landlord restrictions, Force Majeure or otherwise which would make the event or booth location non-viable. If Whistler Farmers Market cancels an event, or booth location registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date. Under No circumstances will Whistler Farmers Market be held liable for any loss of income or damages due to cancellations.
ZERO WASTE POLICY
The Whistler community has committed to working towards a goal of becoming zero waste. Zero waste is a whole systems approach that considers the flow of materials throughout a product's lifecycle, and seeks to maximise the value and efficient use of natural resources while minimising wastage and environmental impacts at every stage of the product lifecycle. Zero Waste is defined as 90% diversion of waste materials from landfills and incinerators.
Since 2013, the Whistler Farmers’ Market has partnered with AWARE, Whistler’s environmental charity, to keep market waste out of the landfill. AWARE hosts a zero waste station at every Sunday Market so that market customers can separate waste items for recycling or composting, ask questions and learn more about reducing waste. The AWARE team also supports market vendors to design out waste and use products that help maximise the diversion of materials from landfill.
Be part of our community’s zero waste journey. Next time you head to the market remember to bring your reusable shopping and produce bags, mug, cutlery, straw and tupperware for all the goodies you want to enjoy. And for all the waste items you can’t avoid visit the Zero Waste station in the middle of the market!
