As several Directors approach end of terms serving on the Whistler Farmers' Market Board, Director nominations are encouraged from both within the market and wider community.
Nominations Close 5 PM on May 7, 2024.
The Board values engaged, passionate and skilled leaders and innovators to have an active role in representing the organisation’s membership and shaping the future of the Markets.
The WFM Board of Directors is committed to energizing and supporting the vision, mission and development of the organisation within our community and beyond. The following experience and expertise would benefit the organisation:
Accounting
Administration
Fundraising and financial development
Board governance
Committee experience and working with craft juries
Strategic thinking and/or policy
Marketing and social media

Submit your nomination by 5 PM on May 7, 2024
Attend the online AGM to vote on May 30, 2024
B. ELECTION PROCESS
Call for Nominations April 22 to May 7, 2024.
Candidate list confirmed and profiles issued to members May 9, 2024
Election AGM, May 30, 2024. Results will be announced immediately. All successful directors will be required to attend a Directors’ meeting in the following month where a further orientation will be given to new directors.
In keeping with non-profit governance best practices and WFM Bylaws, please note that nominations from the floor will not be accepted.
C. INTRODUCTION
The Board of the Whistler Farmers’ Market is comprised of eleven Directors. Directors serve as volunteers with no remuneration for expenses related to travel for required meetings and events. Applications are being accepted from interested members of the community to fill vacancies as they arise. A strong desire to see Whistler Farmers’ Market grow strong within the community as a not for profit organization, and board experience are candidate attributes.

D. TERM OF OFFICE
A Whistler Farmers’ Market Director is elected for a term of two years from the date of appointment.
E. PARTICIPATION IN MEETINGS
Meetings of the Board are currently held on the second Thursday of the month with a minimum commitment of 50% attendance required.
